While I am writing on my post I am sitting with still wet hair, in a bathrobe with a breathtaking view behind my laptop over the turquoise bay and full of the most incredible memories I was able to collect this morning with my best diving buddies, ...

Tranquility

Tranquility

My eyes are never tired of watching the colors change, the ocean expanding towards the horizon and the gently curling of the waves onto the shore. Patiently they roll the bigger corals and shells until they split and mix with the fine sand. One is never too grown up not to search for treasures, like the perfect shell or the eventual beach glass ...

Baked & Wired

Baked & Wired

Baked and Wired DC

Confession: I spent last weekend in Washington, DC. While there I had the best cupcake of my life at Baked & Wired. I thought I would never say this, but Washington might have one on NYC when it comes to the art of a bakery/coffee shop with this family run insitution in Georgetown. The place is split into two parts: the baked bar (with the craziest cupcake/brownie/cookie/all-of-the-above combinations you could imagine) and the wired bar (which serves things like dirty chai and chai-der, a combination of chai and cider.... these people are clearly doing a lot of things right). I had an amazing peanut butter chocolate cupcake with my coffee, while my friend Amanda opted for the flapjack variation topped with candied bacon. Proceed with caution if you decide to go, I can't take responsibility for ensuing diabetes or occurances of cardiac arrest due to severe sugar overdose. That being said, I still think this should be one of your first stops in Washington, and in the meantime I'll be hoping they'll open one in my beloved NYC as well.

B&W in a Colorful City

B&W in a Colorful City

For many years I had a grudge against New York.

Mainly because we had to visit with the kids being small and I thoroughly believe it is a city for grown ups. Since last fall I fell in love with her again and find her amazing, always changing, never resting, challenging and demanding. All attributes I am open to and so here is my view of New York in B&W, which I love, by the way...

Chouquettes

Chouquettes

This is one of my favorite recipes I learned at culinary school this summer, especially because they don't need rising time and can be made right before brunch.

Buns made with Potatoes

Buns made with Potatoes

It was time to make my own buns. living with a teenager and the threat of Five Guys each time we get close to the US, I thought about coming up with the most delicious bun for dirty and high calorie food. So this is our cheat meal. Once a week you eat what you like - NO REGRETS!

Twirl

Today's Post is special for two reasons, the first that this post was created with my mom while she was visiting me, the second that today we're finally launching the new layout of the blog.

The High Line is an elevated freight rail line transformed into a public park on Manhattan’s West Side. It runs from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District -  last photo on the post - to West 34th Street, between 10th and 12th Avenues and is 2,5 km long.
