The doorbell rings, the family arrives and everyone gets his favorite version of a breakfast egg.

Dear Jervois – Brunch in Auckland

Dear Jervois – Brunch in Auckland

Aukland won our affection not alone through the views on to the water from every street almost, or the pleasant temperature while Europe is hiding under a blanket of white but truly by its food and its little cafes and restaurants we ate in.

Pumpkin Spice Bread

My home is a real home now! This bread filled our kitchen with the smell of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves incredibly addictive!

Top of the Standard - Brunch

Top of the Standard - Brunch

Sophie and I had brunch at the former very famous Boom Boom Room, now Top of The Standard Hotel.
The views are breathtaking any time of day ...

Bluestone Lane Collective Cafe

It's safe to say that if you return to a restaurant more than 3 times in 2 days, it's probably on its way to be on of your all time favorites.

Breakfast at Claus

Claus is the tiniest breakfast place tucked away in a side street of Rue St Honoré, with a small shop on the ground level and a small restaurant on the first floor. It feels quintessentially French, but also serves all your British and American breakfast classics, and even some green juice, which is always difficult to find in Paris.

Buvette Eggs

Buvette happens to make the best ones I've ever had, simply using steam from a coffee machine …

The Smith

The Smith

My best friend Emma recently moved into her new apartment and is now an expert in all things East Village, so she took us to one of her favorite brunch places: The Smith. (Don't worry they have locations in midtown and the Upper West Side too!) The atmosphere is relaxed and it's lovely to enjoy the fresh air from the big windows as you eat.

Bubby's Brunch Restaurant New York

For our first room mate brunch of the year, Carolyn and I went to Bubby's, conveniently located not too far from our new apartment. Their iced coffee was one of my favorites I've had so far in New York and I almost finished it before we could place our actual order for food!

Carolyn had granola, yoghurt and fruit.

And I had the biggest and fluffiest pancakes I have ever seen. I'm really not sure how it's humanly possible to finish much more than one of these bad boys!

And a bit of fruit salad for me, to make me feel ever so slightly healthy.

Find them right by the highline and make sure you go for a walk right after, to burn off those pancake calories!

Joseph Leonard

Joseph Leonard Brunch New York Restaurant

My friend Carolyn and I recently signed the lease for an apartment together next year. It's going to be my very first apartment, so naturally I feel very grown up and to celebrate she took me to one of her new favorite brunch places in West Village, Joseph Leonard. Carolyn clearly knows me pretty well, because I absolutely loved this place!

We started out with the usual round of fruit, coffee and orange juice.

Carolyn had the omelette with mushrooms, goat cheese and baby lettuce.

I had the avocado toast with scrambled eggs and I was extremely impressed by the avocado toast, which was made just the way I usually make mine at home.

I also had to get a side of the country fried bacon, which was almost too intense, but amazing nevertheless!

Afterwards we went for a stroll in our new neighborhood and the light was so gorgeous that I simply had to share a few pictures with you:

New York, it's really hard not to love you at times like these.
